Details:

There is an error in the german translation. When I download something, the
time, which is left to finish the download is displayed as "eta", what should
be in german "etwa". ...

Thanks for the report, but the translations are made by the translation
project (https://translationproject.org).

And as I can read from the .po file, the ETA is kept on purpose:

"
#. TRANSLATORS: "ETA" is English-centric, but this must
#. be short, ideally 3 chars. Abbreviate if necessary.
"

BTW, ETA means 'Estimated Time of Arrival'
